BRE Global Certified Environmental Profile

The BRE Global Certified Environmental Profile is a third-party verified life cycle assessment (LCA) certification for construction materials, products, and building systems. Developed by BRE Global and in use since 2001, it measures a product's environmental impacts across its full lifecycle — from raw material extraction and manufacturing through to use in a building and eventual disposal. The methodology evaluates multiple environmental impact categories spanning air, water, and land, at global, regional, and local scales, with results normalized against European citizen impact data to provide meaningful benchmarking.

This certification is primarily aimed at construction product manufacturers and building material suppliers who want credible, independently verified environmental data to support sales into UK and European markets. Certified products are eligible to contribute toward BREEAM credits in green building projects, making the certification particularly valuable for companies whose customers are pursuing BREEAM ratings. Certified products are also listed on the Green Book Live database, increasing visibility among architects, specifiers, and developers making green procurement decisions.
