Global GreenTag Certified

Global GreenTag Certified is a third-party product certification and ecolabel program for the construction, manufacturing, and consumer goods industries. It uses Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology to evaluate a product's environmental performance against a baseline of worst-case conventional alternatives in the same category, producing a standardized EcoPOINT score that ranges from -1 to +1. The program is recognized by major green building rating schemes and is a registered certification mark in both Australia and the United States.

The certification covers a broad range of sustainability metrics, including carbon footprint, human health impacts, and biodiversity effects. Notably, it can account for "net positive" outcomes such as carbon sequestration, meaning products that actively benefit the environment can be distinguished from those that simply cause less harm. This scoring approach is designed to give specifiers and procurement teams a meaningful, comparable basis for choosing sustainable products.

Global GreenTag is operated by Global GreenTag Pty Ltd and is available across multiple geographies including Australia, the United States, China, India, Malaysia, Singapore, and South Africa. The program also offers complementary tools such as a Product Health Declaration and an EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) development pathway, making it a broader platform for manufacturers seeking to substantiate and communicate their sustainability credentials.
