Green Shield Certified

Green Shield Certified is an independent, third-party certification program administered by the IPM Institute of North America, a non-profit organization based in Madison, Wisconsin. It recognizes pest management professionals, facilities, and landscape companies in the United States that practice Integrated Pest Management (IPM) — a science-based approach that prioritizes prevention and minimizes reliance on chemical pesticides.

The program evaluates and certifies both service providers and the buildings or facilities they manage. For pest control companies, certification signals adherence to best practices in prevention-based pest management. For buildings and facilities, it demonstrates that the property is being maintained to a high IPM standard, which can be meaningful for occupants, clients, or stakeholders who value health and environmental responsibility.

Green Shield Certified is intended for pest management professionals and facility managers who want credible, third-party validation of their IPM practices. Because the certification is issued by an independent organization rather than an industry trade group, it carries weight as an objective assessment. The program is currently available to U.S.-based clients only.
