WiredScore Home evaluates a residential building's digital infrastructure across several key performance areas, with scoring designed to reflect real-world tenant experience and future-readiness.

Internet Resilience & Reliability: Assessors evaluate the number and diversity of internet service providers (ISPs) with access to the building, the quality of the in-building distribution network, and the redundancy arrangements that protect against service outages. Buildings with multiple independent ISP connections and resilient routing score more highly.

Mobile Network Coverage: The quality of indoor mobile signal coverage across 4G and 5G networks is assessed, including whether the building has passive or active distributed antenna systems (DAS) or small cell infrastructure to ensure reliable mobile connectivity throughout common areas and individual units.

Smart-Readiness & Future Technology: The building's capacity to support emerging technologies is evaluated, including the quality of in-unit and common-area cabling infrastructure, the presence of smart home-ready systems, and the ability to integrate future connectivity upgrades without major structural intervention.

In-Building Infrastructure Quality: The physical network infrastructure — including riser rooms, cable management, patch panels, and horizontal distribution — is reviewed for compliance with industry standards and its ability to support high-bandwidth services.

Scores across these categories are aggregated to determine the overall certification tier: Certified, Silver, Gold, or Platinum. WiredScore updates its scoring criteria every two years through its Governance Council process to reflect evolving market expectations and technology standards.
