AvoGreen®

AvoGreen® is a pest monitoring and production assurance programme for New Zealand avocado growers, built on the principles of Integrated Pest Management (IPM). Established in 1996 and administered by the New Zealand Avocado Growers' Association & Industry Council Ltd, it provides growers with a structured framework for monitoring pest populations and intervening only when necessary — reducing reliance on chemical inputs while maintaining orchard health.

The programme centres on regular, systematic pest monitoring combined with trace-back systems that allow growers to document and demonstrate their production practices. Because it is fully auditable, AvoGreen® gives buyers — whether domestic retailers or export customers — a verifiable basis for trusting the quality and safety of certified fruit.
