Estonian Organic Farming

The Estonian Organic Farming certification is an official label awarded by the Veterinary and Food Board to producers and handlers whose operations have been approved under Estonia's Organic Farming Act. It confirms that agricultural products have been grown, raised, or processed in accordance with organic principles, without the use of synthetic pesticides, chemical fertilizers, or other prohibited substances.

Because Estonia is a member of the European Union, the conditions for obtaining and using this national organic label align directly with EU organic farming regulations. This means that certified producers are simultaneously meeting the requirements for the EU organic logo, giving their products recognition not just within Estonia but across all EU member states.

This certification is relevant for farmers, growers, and food handlers in Estonia who want to formally verify and market their products as organic. It is administered and overseen by the Veterinary and Food Board, which is responsible for inspecting operations and approving enterprises for certification.
