European Green

European Green is a certification label for green electricity products, issued by Bischoff & Ditze Energy and verified by independent auditor TÜV Rheinland GmbH. It is built on Guarantees of Origin (GoOs), the standard European mechanism for tracking and proving that electricity comes from renewable sources. The label is designed to support the integration of European energy markets into a unified, sustainable energy system.

What sets European Green apart from simpler green electricity labels is its requirement for diversity of supply. Any GoO package sold under the label must draw energy from at least four different renewable sources and originate from at least four distinct European countries. This multi-source, multi-country approach is intended to reflect the interconnected nature of the European grid and prevent over-reliance on any single technology or region.

European Green is relevant for energy suppliers and retailers in Germany and across Europe who want to offer credibly certified green electricity products to their customers. The independent TÜV Rheinland audit provides third-party assurance that labeled products genuinely meet the program's sourcing and diversity requirements.
