Flower Label Program (FLP)

The Flower Label Program (FLP) is a certification standard for cut flower producers that verifies compliance with social and environmental criteria throughout the production process. Backed by an association of human rights organizations, trade unions, flower traders, and producers, FLP operates across major flower-producing and flower-consuming countries including Ecuador, South Africa, Germany, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.

Flower producers who meet the FLP standard are permitted to sell their flowers bearing the FLP "flower label," which signals to buyers and consumers that the flowers were grown under responsible working conditions and with consideration for environmental impact. The certification covers areas such as fair labor practices, worker rights, and environmentally sound growing methods.

FLP is most relevant for flower growers, importers, wholesalers, and retailers who want to demonstrate a credible commitment to ethical sourcing.
