Naturland e.V.

Naturland is a German-based international association and private certification body that has promoted organic agriculture since 1982. It operates across more than 50 countries and works with tens of thousands of farmers alongside hundreds of manufacturers and processors. Naturland certification is recognized across a wide range of industries, including food production, aquaculture, sustainable fisheries, forestry, cosmetics, and textiles.

What sets Naturland apart from basic organic certifications is its integration of social responsibility into its standards. Rather than treating environmental and social criteria separately, Naturland requires certified products to meet both organic and social standards, making ethical labor practices a built-in requirement rather than an optional add-on. Since 2010, members and partners have also had the option to pursue Naturland Fair certification, which adds fair trade principles to the existing organic and social framework.

This certification is relevant for producers, manufacturers, and traders in consumer goods, agriculture, and manufacturing who want a credential that goes beyond minimum organic compliance.
