NPA Natural Seal

The NPA Natural Seal is a certification program run by the Natural Products Association (NPA) for manufacturers of personal care and natural products sold in the United States. To qualify, a product must be formulated with at least 95% natural ingredients, excluding water, and must also meet strict requirements around how those ingredients are processed. Certified products are permitted to display the NPA Natural Seal on their packaging.

Certification is not self-reported — all products undergo an independent third-party audit to verify compliance with NPA's standards. Requirements include full ingredient disclosure on product labels and, for personal care products, the use of 100% natural fragrances. More than 700 products and ingredients have received certification under the program.

This certification is best suited for consumer goods manufacturers looking to credibly communicate the natural composition of their products to shoppers. It provides a recognized, verified signal of ingredient transparency and quality in a market where "natural" claims are otherwise unregulated.
